London's Burning Assembly

On Friday 13th March Year 1 performed 'London's Burning' for their families, teachers and school. The children were fantastic actors, dancers and singers. Year 1 staff are so proud of all of the children.

Sir William Petty - Visitor from the Past

Today Year 1 enjoyed a visit from Sir William Petty.
Sir William told the children about the Great Fire of London.
The children found out how to start a fire using a flint stone.
They found out where the Great Fire of London started on a map of the City and where the fire spread to. The children took part in exercises to explore how and why the Great Fire spread over London. They also found out how the people of London put out the fire by passing buckets along a line of people.
